This website was created by the West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership’s Eye Care Transformation Programme which began in 2019 and ended in 2023.

One of the most important aims of the programme was to increase awareness of eye health and eye conditions for all ages. We talked to people with different eye conditions, including people with a visual impairment, and asked for their thoughts about how we could do this.

This is where the idea for My Eye Health came from. The people we talked to told us they knew the information they needed was out there somewhere, it’s just knowing where to find it. They also told us that if they did find information about their eye condition, they weren’t always sure if that was the best information in terms of it being up to date, easy to understand and accessible.

Following this feedback, we developed this website to bring all the information about eye care that people may need, together in one place. The information has been written by a number of eye care professionals to make sure that it is clinically accurate and appropriate for the eye care services we have in West Yorkshire.

My Eye Health is an information hub for eye care patients, their families, friends and carers. It has information about a wide range of eye conditions, eye care advice, and details of local support services. It also has general information to help promote good eye health, and advice about what to do and who can help if you have an eye problem

We hope you find this website useful and we’d really like to hear what you think about it. Please get in touch with us via email to the Planned Care Team and help us to keep transforming eye care services in West Yorkshire.
